Making the nightshift safe
Most parents are more than a little overwhelmed when they leave the safety of the hospital where nurses are on call every minute of the day and night. And when asked, parents cite sleep safety and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) as their biggest concern. What parent hasn’t leaned over their child’s crib, anxiously watching for that soft rise and fall? Defined as the unexplained death of a baby, SIDS remains the leading cause of death of infants less than one-year-old.
