“Be the change you want to see in the world”
~ Ghandi
We know, we know, Earth Day was a few months ago. But at Natura, we’re always looking for new ways to be better stewards of this planet. We’re so concerned with our environmental responsibilities that everything we do from product development to customer service revolves around it.

Did you know that more than 90% of Natura’s products are made from natural and organic materials that are naturally healthy for people and for our world? In fact, most of our latex mattresses are more natural than what many other bedding manufacturers promote as their “natural” mattress.
As a company dedicated to producing environmentally-friendly products, we want to ensure we’re making eco-friendly choices day-to-day as well. We believe that the products a company sells or produces isn’t enough – eco-logic needs to be built into every process. It starts with some very basic changes – reducing paper by storing more electronically, turning off lights in boardrooms and bathrooms when not in use, shutting off photocopiers and printers for the weekend.
Although April 22 is Earth day, every day can be earth day. Help us celebrate this big beautiful planet by adopting your own eco-logic philosophy. Feel free to steal our list and make it your own.
Earth Day is every day!
Park it – One city bus eliminates the emissions for 40 cars and conserves 70,000 liters of fuel annually.
Cool it – Cold water cleans just as effectively as warm water but uses much less energy.
Light it – A compact florescent bulb (CFL) uses 25% less energy than a regular incandescent bulb and lasts 10 times longer.
Flip it –Wood & paper garbage thrown away by North Americans each year is enough to heat 5 million homes for 200 years. More than 70% of the waste in landfills could be recycled. Setting your printer to print on both sides of the paper reduces paper usage in the office (obviously). Recycling it when you’re finished is another no-brainer.
Fix it – A slow dripping tap can fill a bathtub in just one day, which makes a leaky tap more wasteful than high volume toilets.
Chill out – A refrigerator uses more energy than any other household appliance. Buy Energy Star endorsed appliances and set the temperature to 35-38F for optimum performance.
Pump it – If one of the tires on your car is under-inflated by 20%, you’ll waste more than 75 liters of fuel over a year. Check your tire pressure regularly.
Unsubscribe it – The average household receives 168 pounds in junk mail each year. Remove your name from mailing lists, opt in for electronic billing and cancel unwanted magazine subscriptions.
Reuse it – The average family of four sends 1,000 plastic bags to the landfill each year. Bring reusable bags or baskets to the grocery store. Pack your lunch in reusable containers.
We believe protecting our planet takes responsible action by individuals and industry alike. We’d love to hear how you do it – and maybe steal a page from your notes!
