Lose weight just by getting a better night’s sleep
Beach season is right around the corner, and you know what that means – bathing suit shopping! Instead of diving into the latest fad diet (they don’t work anyway) why not just go to bed? Sleep – not exercise or diet – may be the secret to looking great this summer.
No, we’re not stringing you along…
A good night’s sleep balances your hormones – the ones that nudge you to put your fork down. Under-estimate your sleep needs and you’re more likely to crave sugary and high-carb snacks.

Sleep also improves memory (so you remember to finish your veggies before considering that snickers in your desk drawer) and boosts your immune system. That kind of advice is like getting a free swimsuit – and actually wanting to show it off!
Sleep more, eat less – Researchers at the University of Chicago allowed a group of people 5 ½ hours sleep, others 8 hours and measured snacks consumed by each group the next day. Sleepier participants consumed 221 more calories per day – which adds up to a pound over 2 weeks. Yikes!
Sleep more, store less fat – During sleep your body secretes a hormone that helps your body break down fat. Sleep less and your body stores those extra calories instead of processing them.
Sleep more + exercise more = more beautiful you – Whether you exercise or not is directly related to how sleep-deprived you feel. Yawners aren’t exactly inspired to hit the gym, right?
And we all know that beauty sleep is the first and most important part of your beauty regime.
Do you think it’s possible to lose weight just by getting a better night’s sleep?
