One Million Acts of Green goes global
George Stroumboulopoulos, the guru of green, called on Canadians to commit to Cisco’s One Million Acts of Green campaign, and we rose to the challenge. In just over 100 days Canadians re-bulbed, composted, powered-down and registered one million conscious acts in support of the environment. By the time the event tied up we’d registered 1,796,249 acts in total and saved more than 100,000,000 kg of greenhouse gases.

It hasn’t stopped there. One Million Acts of Green has gone global and thanks to this week’s eco-celebrity, George Stromolouopolous, Canada is leading the charge.
Purchase power
Turning off the tap when you brush your teeth or switching from a battery operated flashlight to a wind up one are great steps, but don’t forget your purchase power. From purchasing organic, locally grown produce to the increased demand for hybrid cars, consumers rule. We are learning the power of demanding change in the business and manufacturing practices. The stronger the pressure to provide green products and utilize green business and manufacturing practices the faster these changes will happen.
How is Natura green? Let us count the ways!
From the moment of our inception, Natura’s quest to transform the business and manufacturing practices of our industry has created a company that makes committing acts of green everyday business. We’ve taken eco-logic to a whole new level – and we’re happy to share our best practices for others to learn from.
For example, we’ve always carded our own wool to cut down on cross-contamination with synthetics and to reduce transportation needs and costs. We also shred latex cuttings from our mattresses and reuse them for pillow cores. The use of soy based BiOH foam allows us to offer popular memory foam pillows and mattresses containing 30% natural components rather than the 100% petrolium products offered by our competitors.
In short, every product produced by Natura contains an element of green, organic and natural, and choosing a Natura product is an act of environmental protection.
