Daylight savings bonanza at Natura World
At Natura World, we celebrated daylight savings time – with gusto. On Twitter, Facebook, our blog – the conversation was hopping as you tweeted, chatted and congratulated us and each other. Now that’s a great big warm fuzzy on a cool spring day!
We could all use a nap
National Napping Day reminds us to nourish our bodies and protect our health by taking the down time we need. Let’s face it, we all need some shut-eye. Yet, according to the World Napping Association 34% of us feel guilty about taking a nap.
It’s time to start rethinking – and protecting our health with a little down time now and again. A good nap is a great tool for clearer thinking, better health and higher productivity!
- Insomnia & sleep deprivation costs companies $18 billion a year in lost productivity
- People who nap for at least 30 minutes at least 3 times per week lower their risk of death by heart attack by 37%
- NASA sleep researchers say that a nap of 26 minutes can boost performance by as much as 34%
- Statistics show the average person collects an annual sleep debt of 500 hours and sleep deprivation reduces our ability to learn new facts by about 40%.
- Thomas Edison, John F. Kennedy and Winston Churchill all napped daily – did they suffer from lost productivity? No way!
Natura tucks-in for a snooze
At Natura we celebrated National Napping Day by wearing our jammies to work – and by sharing the Natura love with our Facebook, Twitter and blog community. Every hour between noon and 9pm yesterday we gave away a 2-in-1 Blanket pillow. (It’s amazing how productive you can be in your bathrobe).
