Understanding natural by the numbers
Natura has been taking eco-responsibility for 15 years. We’re a family-owned business focused on sleep systems with environmental integrity. Not only do we promote green, natural and organic philosophies, we live them. While manufacturing seems to have made a mass exodus overseas, Natura stands firm in the belief that you can’t beat the quality of North American made goods.
One thing we’re especially proud of at Natura is the wide range of eco-friendly mattress options we offer – 5 unique lines. We’ve got you covered if organic is your goal, but maybe you’d prefer to customize your feel with latex and memory foam or soy-based foam.
If you’re confused, pull up a chair and let us explain.
Organic: 99.9% Natural & Organic Materials
Natura’s organic line is made with certified organic materials, which means it’s chemical and pesticide free. All queen size mattresses in this line are made with 8 lbs of 100% certified organic wool, which translates to saving 2 acres of land from pesticides and other agri-chemicals for at least 4 years.
· 100% certified organic cotton cover
· 100% certified organic wool quilting
· 100% Natural latex core
Made from the highest quality natural ingredients, our Natural line is as pure as you can get without organic certification.
· 91% cotton cover
· 100% wool quilting
· Natural Talalay latex core
Ultra-Green: 60% – 72% Natural
Fine tune your green choice with mattresses made with blended Talalay Latex and varying thicknesses of wool covered in bamboo ticking blended with cotton/poly.
· Cotton/poly blend cover
· 100% Wool quilting in varying weights
· 100% Blended latex core
By blending natural raw materials with synthetic, this line offers eco-minded consumers an affordable way to green-up their sleep. And we’re getting very creative fusing blended latex with soy-based foam to reduce our dependence on petro-chemicals.
· Bamboo and cotton/poly blend cover
· 100% wool quilting in varying weights
· Blended Talalay latex and soy-based foam core
Mixed Greens: 54% – 64% Natural
Memory foam offers a unique level of comfort that’s difficult to replicate with all-natural materials. We’ve taken the best of both worlds and improved the feeling of memory foam by adding soy to the compound. We’ve gone one step further and added latex and/or soy-based foams to the base layer.
· Cotton/poly blend cover
· 100% wool quilting in varying weights
· Unique combinations of blended Talalay latex, soy-based foam and soy-based memory foams
Natura takes sustainable manufacturing seriously. For more information about the soy-based foam we use in our Green & Mixed Greens lines, please visit The BiOH Experience.

My husband recently bought us one of the memory foam mattresses and for the past 9 months it has really been hurting my upper back. My friend also bought one and has complained about the same thing. We cannot afford to buy a new mattress at this time so I was hoping to buy a topper/pad in hopes that it would provide relief for me. But before spending the money, I’d love feedback.
Hi Melissa,
Actually adding a topper to your mattress is the best way to improve your sleep (without actually buying a new mattress).
I recommend the mattress mate for the latex and wool combo – super comfy! You can see it here: http://www.naturaworld.com/catalog/bedding/toppers/mattress-mate

I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.
Julia,
My wife and I live in Bermuda and I have been researching beds for sometime. The only bed we have been able to physically try is the Celebrity Bed by TempurPedic. We did very much like the feel of the softness of this bed. Natura products are not available on the island. I called Natura World today and the lady I spoke with thought the closest bed to the Celebrity bed you carry might be the Sensation Mattress. Our concern too is the heat because of the humid climate here in Bermuda. If we end up going with the Sensation mattress, which waterproof mattress protector would you recommend? Any further guidance in my research would be very much appreciated.
Best regards,
Devin
